Is this group like a psychotherapy group?
The groups are designed to explore the experience of soul through, myth, poetry and interaction with one another. Two of the facilitators are experienced psychotherapists and group leaders, one is an artist, so we do use psychological perspectives to help release the spiritual lessons contained within the difficulties of life and recognize the Soul’s journey.
What sort of activities are involved?
Activities may include drawing, sharing in twos and threes, making puppets, writing notes, reading poetry and fairy tales and listening to the stories and experiences of others in an open and non-judging way.
Do I need to participate in all the workshops in a series?
Each weekend builds on the previous one. They work best if the participants can commit to all the weekends in each series.
How large are the groups?
Between twelve and eighteen participants plus three facilitators. Introductory workshops may be smaller.
Will I have to reveal things about myself to other people?
If you want to get the full benefit of the workshops then yes, but the way you speak about things and what you reveal is entirely up to you. If you have great difficulty speaking in groups then these workshops may not be for you. If you want to learn how to share something of yourself in a group context they could be just what you are looking for.
Will the workshops involve movement and bodywork?
A little, but nobody will be asked to do anything they’d rather not do. We work to a principle of free will, choice and self-responsibility in all our workshops and we recognize that often as much can be gained from watching as participating.
Will I need to bring anything with me?
Writing materials, a notepad and pen are all you will need. Tea and biscuits are provided and there are plenty of restaurants nearby for lunch.
Will the group be asked to abide by guidelines about confidentiality and giving personal feedback?
Yes.
Where is the nearest tube station?
Bethnal Green (Central Line) is a ten minute walk down Roman Road.
